Monitoring Packages

Arnia hive monitors enable beekeepers to remotely monitor the status of their honey bee colonies from any internet enabled device. We are unique in combining movement sensors and environmental sensors (temperature and humidity) with hive acoustic analysis in a single device. A selection of monitoring packages is available which use different combinations of these sensors…..

Hive monitoring will not provide definitive diagnostics regarding the health of a colony or specific predictions of bee behaviour; however it will provide you with valuable data on bee activity and conditions in your hives. Once you have been using your monitors for a while you will become familiar with the readings and improve your ability to apply the information to help you manage your colonies throughout the year.

Bee hive monitoring is in its infancy; however as the base of monitor users grows and the volume of data increases so will our ability to identify new bee health and behaviour indicators.  By monitoring your hives, not only will you gain a completely new insight into status of your colonies, you will also benefit from the collective growth in knowledge over time:-

  • Receive free software upgrades and new monitoring features as the data base grows and develops.
  • Participate in a forum with other beekeepers that are monitoring their hives, exchanging experiences, sharing data and hints and tips on how to get the best from your monitors.
  • Input directly into the pooled knowledge base that could help improve the health and well-being of honey bees.
