Second Bite of the Cherry!

cherry 1

Honey bees gather cherry nectar, which makes a wonderful addition to the early spring honey. In the process they pollinate the flowers and are directly responsible for cherry fruit production. Interestingly, in times of nectar shortage they feed on the sugary juice of the fruit too.

cherry 2

Honey bees cannot bite through the skin of the cherry but use the existing cracks and openings caused by birds and rain.
